What are intensives?
EMDR and/or IFS Intensives are an advanced form of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Internal Family Systems. Unlike traditional therapy sessions, Intensives offer an extended treatment format, providing a concentrated and focused approach to healing. Over the course of multiple consecutive days, you will engage in intensive therapy sessions that allow for a deeper exploration and processing of unresolved experiences, traumas, and negative beliefs.
How do intensives differ from typical therapy?
Intensives differ from traditional therapy sessions in both duration and focus. While regular therapy typically unfolds over weeks or months, intensives condense the process into a shorter timeframe, often spanning for days. This concentrated approach provides several distinct advantages:
-
Accelerated Progress: Intensives allow individuals to achieve meaningful breakthroughs in a shorter period. The immersive, focused nature of these sessions facilitates deeper exploration and faster healing.
-
Targeted Treatment: By dedicating extended time to therapy, intensives create space to thoroughly address and process complex emotions, memories, and beliefs contributing to distress. This in-depth approach helps tackle deeper issues more effectively.
-
Enhanced Integration: With minimal time between sessions, your mind can more effectively consolidate and apply the work, resulting in lasting and transformative outcomes.
Who can benefit?
EMDR intensives are designed for individuals seeking rapid relief and deep emotional healing. These sessions are ideal for those whose weekly therapy schedules may not be convenient, who are tired of feeling hopeless and stuck in a cycle, who wish they had longer sessions, or who are ready to take the next step in their healing journey. Whether you are struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, phobias, or other emotional challenges, EMDR intensives can help you make significant progress. Suzanne will customize each intensive to meet your specific needs and goals, providing you with a personalized treatment plan that supports your unique path to recovery.
